Decralite offers quick-ship (within 48 hrs) on many of our globes. Globe orders generally ship within 5 -7 working days. Please note larger quantities may take longer.
Who can place an order with Decralite?
We work with public sectors and cities across America who require bulk class globe orders. If you are looking for a small order, do not hesitate to reach out and we can refer you to another re-seller.
What’s the best globe material type to use for a LED light source?
In the past, acrylic or polycarbonate have traditionally been used. However, recent advancements in resins have resulted in a new diffuse acrylic material referred to as LED Acrylic (Visual Comfort).
This new acrylic greatly reduces the sharp pixilation effect often associated with LED diodes.
How do I measure the diameter of a round globe?
The easiest way is to stand the globe vertical on the floor against a flat surface, such as a wall. At the same time, using another flat surface such as a book, stand it vertical against the outside edge of the globe.
Measure the inside measurement (I.D.) between the wall and book. Generally, the globe will measure under-size. If the inside measurement is for example 11″ it is considered a 12″ globe for ordering purposes. Globes are offered in even increments of inches.
Is the inside diameter of a post top fitter (globe holder) generally the same measurement as the outside diameter of the globe?
No. Generally the I.D (inside diameter) of a globe holder will be approx. 1″ larger/oversize than the O.D. (outside diameter) of the globe itself.
Example: If the I.D. measurement of the globe holder is approximate 9″, it will accept a globe with an approximate neck diameter of around 8″.
